The Sewanee Summer Music Festival could not function without the tremendous dedication of our volunteers. In 2010, more than 50 individuals donated their time and skills. Our volunteer crews assist patrons and students, help with concerts and lunches, and make many of our day-to-day operations possible. Are you interested in joining our team? Below are just a few of the opportunities available for the 2012 season, which runs from June 23-July 22. Please fill out our volunteer sign up form or contact us at ssmf@sewanee.edu or 931-598-1225. Drivers: June 22, 23, & July 22, 23 (drive students to and from the Smokehouse to connect with Groome Shuttle as needed)
Registration: June 23th (register campers as they arrive in Sewanee; 8:30–11:00 am and 10:30–1:00 pm)
Sunday Concerts: June 24th, July 1rst, July 8th. July 15th, July 22nd at 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. (sell tickets or merchandise or act as lobby concert greeter)
Faculty Chamber Concerts, Wednesdays: June 27th, July 11th, July 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Faculty Chamber Concerts, Saturdays: July 7th, July 14th, July 21 at 7:30 p.m.
Guest Artist Concert: July 11th
Concerto Competition: July 19st 7:30 p.m.
There will also be other opportunities to participate in activities that relate to office management, marketing endeavors, and student events. If you have any other idea of how you would like to participate, we are open to that as well. Please contact our office staff and let us know where you would feel most enthusiastic! We will be having a meeting at some point in May to elaborate further and give you all a chance to give any suggestions you may have. There is no meeting scheduled as of this moment but keep an eye out! Any type of assistance is greatly appreciated and most importantly, we want you to be a part of the Sewanee Summer Music Festival community!!
