Teaching Opportunities for French Majors

Southern Teachers Agency logo

Each year, Southern Teachers Agency helps hundreds of teachers find jobs at outstanding college preparatory schools throughout the South—nearly 600 schools in 16 states from Texas to Florida to Pennsylvania. STA has already received French vacancy listings from schools for the 2014-15 academic year, and anticipate many more in the coming months! These jobs range from teaching French to elementary students through AP French Literature and Language courses. Certification is not required by private schools for many French jobs.

Requirements:

Candidates do not have to be in a teacher-preparation program or major in education to be considered for faculty positions at outstanding independent schools. While a degree in French education is desirable, most middle and upper grade teachers are hired based on their major—their subject knowledge—and their gifts for working with young people. Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Job Fairs:

Beginning February 6th, STA will host 12 virtual recruitment fairs throughout the hiring season: Thursdays @ STA!  Registered STA candidates may participate in these fairs and will have the opportunity to meet school administrators through prescheduled, real-time digital interviews for vacancies, with zero travel and zero registration costs.  In order to participate in the first virtual fair of 2014 on April 24th, interested students should apply to STA for candidacy as soon as possible.
