Academic study of these sites will be rigorous, and balanced by healthy doses of la dolce vita, for Italy is also home to Europe's finest cuisine and coffee. And did we mention gelato? We begin in Naples, a city vibrant with life, and then move to Pompeii, the great doomed city destroyed by a volcano and thus preserved for later ages. From there, we make or way to Rome, the Eternal City, and home to the Colosseum, St. Peter's, the Trevi Fountain, and countless other must-see attractions.
